Description
An extra-colorful and hardy monkshood, with leaves as showy as the tall blooms. In early spring, leaves emerge brilliant red, adding much needed color in gardens that have barely awaken. Tall and sturdy, reddish stems carry hooded, metallic purple-blue flowers, from summer to early fall. Plants keep attractive when not in bloom, with dense rosettes of glossy, dark green leathery leaves. A more heat tolerant Monkshood.
