Fast-growing and almost evergreen, this elegant twining vine can quickly cover trellises and screens. Hardy, easy to grow, and very ornamental, kiwi vines are fine choices among twining climbers. Plants can grow 20 feet in one season, if given ideal conditions, but can easily be kept compact by pruning. Females of this variety bear edible, but not flavorful fruit. Male selections are just as garden-worthy, with lovely lustrous, clean, dark green foliage that are late to fall off and yellow in autumn. Flowers are fragrant, but in clusters hidden by leaves, rather small, whitish with purplish anthers.
