It was in Sichuan Province near the Shaanxi border that I collected the seed that gave rise to these plants. Very unlike what I consider the typical A. davidii in cultivation, the leaves of these individuals were extremely large, to 6"""", deep green, rounded and unlobed and possessing a leathery texture.
