Description
'Fastigiata' displays a narrow, fastigiated form in youth, but gradually acquires a tear drop or oval-vase shape with age. We've trained several to create a free-form topiary. Monoecious flowering catkins, in yellow to green shades, form in early spring before the foliage emerges. Ovate, toothed, bright green leaves follow and are attractive throughout all seasons. The smooth gray bark and distinctive muscle-like fluting complete the unique textural qualities.
