Tiarella cordifolia 'Running Tapestry'

Description

This aptly named selection creeps over and around just about anything in the shade. Runners throw forth richly colored, deeply dissected heart-shaped leaves in tones of deep purple-black radiating outward to burgundy-red. Masses of tiny white flowers appear in airy racemes in spring, floating above the foliage and adding a mystical look to the woodland garden. Dainty in appearance but tough in constitution; let this one cascade over rocks or ramble in and out of a collection of native species.
