Hydrangea serrata 'Matsu-Himo Nishiki'

Description

(Translation: pine, string, brocade.) I brought this very fine variegated selection from Japan several years ago and have appreciated its demure size, to 4 ft. x 4 ft. as well as the dark green foliage broadly stroked in creamy white ever since. The light pink to light blue lacecaps are produced in early to mid-summer. Partial shade is best in any draining soil with adequate summer moisture. Ours thrives in a very densely shaded bed in our woodland.
