Description
This is our first offering of this very good, dwarf cultivar of Cryptomeria that I was given by J.C. Raulston over 15 years ago. That it has taken this long to at last take cuttings provides a glimpse into its rate of growth, slowly but steadily developing into a dense globe-shaped specimen to 2.5 ft. x 2.5 ft. In addition to its well-behaved stature, the foliage of Birodo transitions in cooler temperatures to a purple russet color, adding a rich flavor to the winter landscape in our garden. Best in full sun and any draining soil.
