Echinacea paradoxa

Description

A Yellow Purple Coneflower, thus the paradox. Relatively rare both in the wild and as a cultivated plant, this species is nonetheless stunning and worthy of wider use. Its pure bright yellow petals fall elegantly around a prominent brown cone (on which our garden's Goldfinches have deemed the perfect perching spot).
