The wet, rocky cliffs in the mountains of the Tokaido district of Japan's southeast Honshu are the original habitat of the Hakone grasses. These soft, mounding plants bring a unique textural interplay to the shaded garden. 'All Gold's' solid gold blades are especially spiky and upright spiky, reminding us of a bamboo. This slow but steady grower adds "bling" and finesse to a shady site.
