Description
These are seedlings from a very good form long raised by Duane West in his garden in Sequim. Extremely early stems arise with three large oval leaves and upright flares of deep claret in March. These seedlings result from pollination by a less deeply hued male parent, though we are hoping the majority of the progeny will follow the seed parent in effect. Light shade in any humus-rich soil.
