Dramatic and eye-catching, euphorbias are excellent drought tolerant perennials whose foliage color, texture, and architectural form fit perfectly in a gravelly-soil, sun-drenched, low-maintenance garden. 'Fire Glow' produces orange-red cyathia that crown its orange-pink upright stems as they emerge in very early summer, intensifying in color as they mature over two months. Becomes a blaze of color again in autumn as its foliage turns yellow, orange, and red. Tolerates clay soils if not too wet; spreads faster in sandy places. Parent of Euphorbia 'Jessie' (a new item in the 2009 HW catalog).
