Description

With its unusual double blooms in shades of purple-black, this 14" hellebore is a welcome addition to the floral color palette for late winter and early spring. Just on the verge of being black, the fluffy, downward facing flowers are set off by the foliage that starts out purple before shifting to green, a source of depth and interest for a woodland border. Provided dappled shade and well-drained, humus-rich soil, the plants will naturalize and spread their magic as far as you see fit. Deer-resistant.
