Kniphofia 'Candle Light' PP12343

Description

Continuously-blooming flowers in spikes that are tipped creamy yellow but fade to white at the base as the tubular flowers open from bottom to top all summer long. Discovered by Georgia's Richard Saul in 1996, 'Candlelight' stands out from the rest for its extremely long period of bloom - from May into October - as well as its unique flower color and overall compact form. Provided well-drained soil and full sun, Kniphofias can be extremely long-lived plants exhibiting excellent drought tolerance. Winter drainage is critical, and tying up the thick, grassy foliage so it covers the crown is a standard precaution.
