Delphinium x elatum 'Fenella'

Description

Spires stand majestic, each stalk dense with 2.5" florets in vivid gentian blue, marked with dark-eyed 'bees'. Easy to grow and one of the best old-time varieties, awarded Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society for its excellent garden performance. A strong grower with stems to 5 feet, a must for adding color and height to a border.
Prefers moist, well-drained, fertile soils. Stake in mid spring and protect from strong winds. To rebloom in the fall, cut faded upright flower spikes back to the nearest flowering side shoot. At the end of the season, cut back flower stalks, leaving the basal leaves intact.
