Description
Discovered in the 1980's in Twickenham market in London, after which Clematis expert Raymond J. Evison quickly realized it was one of a kind and worked to develop it into a garden-worthy masterpiece. Sporting an elaborate form and unusual coloring, each bloom begins as a tight ball of thin petals waiting to burst and then fluffs out more and more until it morphs into a gigantic pompon in swirling and varying shades of pink, green, and ivory. The color tends to turn more lilac pink when the plant is given more sun. Exceedingly unusual and quite lovely.
