Description
My collections of this species from Taehuksan Island in S. Korea in 1993, this forms handsome mounds of linear ovate leaves to 1 ft. in length, while the lavender (and rarely white) flowers are borne towards the top of the scapes, rising to 1 ft. or more. This grew in open sunny sites as well as rather dryish shade, though seems to have settled in nicely in the humus-rich shaded soil of our woodland.
