Possessing sparkling flowers with a waxen quality in colors of pure white, mustard yellow or spotted lavender held along often elegantly arching stems clad by narrow, bamboo-like leaves, often variegated, Tricyrtis, possess all the qualities of a good garden plant in combination with a sturdy disposition. Though it is not known exactly, the common name of Toad Lily is believed to have arisen from the spotted effects on the leaves of many species.
