Description

This species has proven to be completely hardy for us in the protected conditions of our woodland though makes a lovely basket or container plant. Though a very late riser from the ground, soft tangerine flowers are produced non-stop throughout mid-summer and autumn atop 10" mounds of light green foliage. Like B. grandis, copious numbers of bulbils are produced in leaf axils; the mother bulbs remain relatively small even when fully mature. Superb with Oxalis vulcanicola 'Copper Glow' and Melianthus major.
