Description
An undiluted form of this species that I have come to admire for its indispensable, glossed foliage and late winter blossoms of ebullient orange. How thrilling it was to see this growing on Chiloe Island, in sites where Darwin himself may have seen it for the first time. I could almost hear him as he walked through these dazzling dunes of Gunnera and Berberis; ""Ouch, ooch, eech, ouch.""
