Eryngium planum

Description

This thistle-like plant starts out as low rosettes to 8" tall, with ornately toothed, 4" long, blue-green leaves. Upright and stiff, 3' tall, silvery-blue stems are topped with egg-shaped thistle-like heads, packed with steel blue flowers. Plant Eryngiums, here and there in your sunny border, as accent plants.
