Description
A superb species with year-round interest, with small but profuse white, yellow-centered "Camellias" in early summer, handsome, somewhat glossy summer foliage transforming to exquisite tints of orange-red in autumn, undressing to reveal the crispy, exfoliating bark in tones of ground cardamom. Ultimately to 25 ft. or slightly taller, for full sun or partial shade, in acidic well-drained soil.
