A rarity in American gardens, this is a lovely lyrical accent along a woodland path or in a container. In late spring and summer, this European perennial's fuzzy, honey-scented foliage and upright stems bear small, deep red labiate flowers the tubular and lipped form typical of the mint family. A favorite destination for butterflies. Grows well in any moist, well-drained soil.
